Sustainability verification through third-party assessments is essential for companies aligning to green development, providing a benchmark and guidance on how to improve performance even further. In the FMCG food industry, to include low-carbon packages supplied by producers with sustainability high on the agenda have grown to become one of the most significant factors of adopting sustainable development practices, during recent years.
Ecolean is once again named one of the most sustainable companies in the world by EcoVadis, building on the very reason why many of their customers choose Ecolean's unique packaging system. “Our packages are lightweight and save resources throughout the life-cycle which of course benefit both our customers and the consumers. The 2023 EcoVadis rating gives extra credit to our always on-going sustainability work in a broader sense than just the performance of our products, which we are very proud of, and which pride our customers too”, says Anna Svensson, Chief Marketing Officer, Ecolean.
“EcoVadis’ yearly assessments serve as the perfect base for us to measure our work within sustainability as well as benchmark towards other companies. EcoVadis rates how well we perform and this year we have improved our scores in the areas of Labour & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement”, shares Anna Palminger, Chief Sustainability Officer of Ecolean. “Our continuous improvements, both in policies, activities and reporting has earned us some extra points since last year, placing us once again in the top one percent of all 100,000 companies”.
